Rosé 2020
The Story:
Our Rosé program was first crafted from our Primitivo grapes and released in 2004 & 2006. For the next decade our Rosé program was composed of a different blend of grape based on chemistry analysis of the current vintage. In 2019, we asked our Harvest Team Members to spend an extra day picking Sangiovese specifically for the Rosé program. Two to three weeks prior to harvesting Sangiovese for our Super Texan program, our Harvest Team Members arrive at sunrise to spend a morning picking Sangiovese specifically for our Rosé. Picking the grapes early results in a beautiful crisp acidity.
The Tasting Notes:
The 2020 Rosé is candy apple red in contrast to the Provençal salmon color of the 2019. The darker color is a preview of what's to come. On the nose you'll smell sun-ripened strawberry and sweet cherry. These aromas carry through on the palate with a punch of acidity on the finish. If you enjoyed the 2019 Rosé during spring and summer by the pool, then the 2020 Rosé will carry you through the fall and winter. Serve it beside roasted winter squash, Thanksgiving turkey and Christmas ham!
