Reserve Pinot Grigio 2016
The Story:
The view from the Bistro encompasses the beauty of Pecan Park Block where the Estate Pinot Grigio is grown. The Pinot Grigio, planted in 2001, is always the first grape harvested in mid-July. The quality of this fruit is consistently exceptional. The resulting Flat Creek Estate Pinot Grigio is a signature wine and an award-winning wine.
The Tasting Notes:
Vintage 2016 produced exceptional quality fruit with low yields. Winemaker Tim Drake took advantage of the low yields and crafted the wine in the same fashion as high caliber producers in Italy. A small amount of the wine, 18%, was fermented and aged in Russian Oak barrels. The wine was also sur lie aged for 7 months giving it volume and depth. Enjoy with seared scallops and raw oysters!
