Reserve Syrah 2012
The Story:
Syrah is one of the primary red varietals grown at Flat Creek Estate. To give our customers a better understanding of terrior, we introduced two Syrahs in 2015. One is our 2012 Reserve Estate Sryah, produced from grapes grown on our Estate, and the other is our 2014 American Syrah, comprised of some excellent fruit sourced from California.
The Tasting Notes:
This is a big, inky full-bodied dry wine that unfolds new layers over time. The nose opens with smoky notes of cherry, blackberry and cocoa. These aromas are carried through onto the broad palate and are accented by plum, tobacco and a hint of bacon that extends into the lengthy finish. Pair this wine with grilled venison, smoked duck breast or a rare steak.
