Reserve Pinotage 2014
The Story:
Pinotage, a cross between Pinot Noir & Cinsaut (Hermitage), is the signature variety in South Africa, so what is it doing in the Flat Creek Estate portfolio? The grapes for this wine were sourced from Sierra Ridge Vineyards where owner John Bree is credited with bringing Pinotage to the United States. When John offered a small amount of Pinotage, we were delighted & think you will be too. This limited release wine exhibits great varietal character & should age beautifully.
The Tasting Notes:
Our 2014 Pinotage is a bold, full-bodied wine with lush tannins. It is dark granite in color with aromas of candied ginger and Bing cherries. The cherry aromas carry through on the palate and are finished with a subtle anise flavor. This is our last vintage of Pinotage! Fill your cellar with this exceptional wine!
