If you love quality Oregon Pinot Noir, you'll fall head-over-heels for this Texas Hill Country Aglianico.  Aglianico aficionados will be surprised by the bright red color and enticing cranberry and vanilla aromas of this wine.  It is a beautifully elegant contrast to the typical earth-driven Aglianicos of Southern Italy.  Join us at the Wine & Food Hall for vegetarian Mushroom Asiago Fusilli and a glass of Texas Hill Country Aglianico.

The 2016 Texas Montepulciano is comprised of grapes from the Texas Hill Country & the Texas High Plains.  It is lighter than our previous 2015 Montepulciano.  Much of the difference in weight can be attributed the different barrels each wine was aged in.  The 2015 was aged in Hungarian Oak, notorious for its ability to increase mid-palate.  The 2016 vintage was aged in Russian Oak, an oak known for its sweeter aromas and elegance in the mouth.  The black cherry notes and rustic old-world style remain in both vintages!

A dark ruby robe sets the stage for the 2017 Montepulciano. Its nose offers an enchanting blend of dark cherry, blackberry, and black currant, with a subtle hint of spice. The palate delivers a skillful performance, with medium-high tannins orchestrating a dance between lush strawberry jam and lively tart cranberry notes, lingering gracefully with hints of black pepper. The iron minerality drawn from the red sandy soil of Texas High Plains adds depth and authenticity, wrapping the palate in a distinctive embrace. 

This estate-grown Montepulciano captivates with a deep garnet robe. The nose is a harmonious blend of succulent blackberries, ripe cherries, and a subtle whisper of cigar box. On the palate, the full-bodied elegance glides smoothly, a testament to its 3-year oak aging. It unfolds earthy and then blossoms into a tapestry of luscious dark red fruit, persisting with enchanting hints of violet on the finish. A symphony of flavors and textures, this wine dances gracefully from hearty to floral, leaving a lasting impression of rustic charm and delicate allure.

Vintage 2017 yielded exceptional quality fruit and in quantities large enough to gift us two 100% Estate Bottled Syrahs. This non-reserve Syrah was sourced from Hilltop Block, a block dedicated specifically to Syrah.  It is a beautifully dark inky color with aromas of pomegranate and raisin.  There is a chalky minerality that tickles your nose and invites you back for another sniff.  The palate exhibits a lushness that you might expect from a California Zinfandel, but that is rarely present in the warm-climate wines of the Texas Hill Country.  Savor the raisin notes and intense tannins of this wine late into the night.    

Draped in a deep ruby robe, this estate-grown Syrah captivates the senses. The nose unveils a vibrant symphony of red fruits, an orchestra of raspberries, strawberries, and untamed wild berries, accompanied by an enchanting medley of white and gray pepper spices, evoking the varietal's signature allure. On the palate, the curtain rises on structured tannins framing a performance of ripe cherry and red currant melodies, elegantly interwoven with a cloak of pepper spices and a gentle caress of cocoa. As the final act unfolds, lingering notes of tobacco leaves cast a mesmerizing spell, leaving a harmonious and lasting resonance.

Our Tempranillo wine enchants with its garnet robe, while the nose exudes an enticing blend of fresh figs, blackberry, and ripe cherry, complemented by a subtle leathery finish. The palate offers a delightful medium body and silky tannins, showcasing flavors of luscious strawberry jam. The finish is long and memorable, featuring enchanting notes of baking spices and a hint of vanilla that lingers gracefully.

This Texas Cabernet Sauvignon presents itself as a sophisticated and feminine rendition of the classic varietal. With its delicate ruby color, it exudes grace and charm. The nose showcases juicy strawberry, raspberry, and hints of delicate floral undertones, reminiscent of lilac. On the palate, the wine's incredibly smooth texture and medium-light body further enhance its refined character. The complex array of fresh red fruits, including cranberry and red currant, adds a touch of allure, resulting in a truly elegant and captivating expression of Cabernet Sauvignon.
