Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
The Story:
There aren’t a lot of growers we trust to grow Cabernet Sauvignon in Texas. It is a challenging varietal to grow in the warm Texas environment, but Neal Newsom has mastered it. His initial plantings in 1986 are among the oldest producing vines in Texas. Their age and extremely low yields are apparent in the concentrated flavors found in this wine.
The Tasting Notes:
This full-bodied, dry red wine is exactly what Texas Cabernet Sauvignon should taste like. Brick red in color with traditional licorice notes and none of the bell pepper notes that can be an indicator of under-ripe fruit. Cellar a few cases so you can pop a cork every time you enjoy that Texas steak hot off the grill!
